Criminal organization that sold heavy drugs in EU countries was neutralized - SSU. PHOTOS
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
As a result of a special operation in Ternopil, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy regions, the SSU neutralised a criminal organisation of drug traffickers.
During the operation, the SSU detained 6 members of the group, who manufactured and sold industrial volumes of amphetamine, α-PVP, mephedrone LSD. According to the available data, the offenders produced up to 40 kg of prohibited substances worth over UAH 20 million per month.
They set up two drug laboratories to produce the "goods". The drug labs were located in the basements of the defendants' homes and garages. The finished "products" were sold in different regions of Ukraine through a system of so-called "bookmarks" set up by drug dealers.
The offenders also tried to sell synthetic drugs and psychotropics to the European Union. They used postal services to send prohibited substances abroad, and hid the "orders" in boxes with household appliances. To find customers, the group members created a network of specialised telegram channels where they offered the entire "range of their own products".
During 34 searches in drug labs, as well as in the suspects' homes and cars, the SSU found
- almost 8 kg of α-PVP, amphetamine;
- over 500 litres of precursors for the manufacture of psychotropic drugs;
- over 600 "bookmarks" prepared for sale;
- equipment for the production and packaging of "goods";
- draft records and phones with data on international drug trafficking;
- almost UAH 0.5 million, allegedly obtained by criminal means.
The detainees were served a notice of suspicion under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a type of detention is being decided. Comprehensive measures to bring to justice all persons involved in the drug trafficking group are under way.
