Village council chairman nabbed accepting $170,000 bribe in Cherkasy region, - SBU. PHOTOS

Law enforcers have documented that the chairman of a village council, a land surveyor and a state registrar extorted $184,000 from a local businessman for the allocation of land. The businessman planned to use 6.5 hectares of public land in the vicinity of the regional center for commercial development.
The official was apprehended outside the village council while accepting part of the bribe in the amount of $170,000. The two accomplices were detained inside the village council.
Pretrial investigation is underway.
