Civilian woman killed in Zolote town shelled by pro-Russian militants at night, - Regional State Administration. PHOTO (updated)

In early hours of Aug. 23, Russian terrorist troops shelled suburbs of Zolote town in the Luhansk region three times using automated grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the press service of the Luhansk regional state administration.

According to the agency, a local woman was killed by a bullet during shelling in her own apartment.

Journalist Kostiantyn Reutskyi posted more details on his Facebook page: "A skirmish occurred at an outskirt of Zolote-4 last night. A 58-year-old local resident Tetiana Seliuta was killed. A bullet (presumably from a large-caliber machine gun, fired from the demarcation line) entered the room when Tetiana was going to sleep. Ambulance car refused to arrive in the shelled area. Tetiana's son did not manage to stop the bleeding."

It is reported about the total of 12 cases of shelling recorded over the past 24-hour period in residential areas of the Luhansk region.

"Militants sprayed positions of Ukrainian military near Krymske of Novoaidar district six times, used 120-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, and small arms. They also opened fire from grenade launchers of various types and small arms upon Lopaskyne village.

"At around midnight, the enemy conducted massive shelling of Stanytsia Luhanska using 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, IFV and large-caliber machine guns. The building of Ukraine's Pension Fund was damaged again," the message reads.

The press service also said pro-Russian militants used artillery weapon to shell positions of Ukrainian troops near Popasna suburbs.

Earlier, it was reported about 54 cases of fire upon Ukrainian Army positions over the past 24-hour period.
