The court has delivered its verdict against the women accused of violating a law against unauthorized protests.

As noted, five women wearing T-shirts blaming Vladimir Putin for the Beslan school massacre were detained during a ceremony commemorating victims of the tragic event.

They face up to 15 days in custody and potential fines. Two journalists covering the event, Novaya Gazeta reporter Elena Kostyuchenko and Diana Khachatrian, a correspondent for online news site Takie Dela, were also detained and held in custody for two hours.

Many people were injured during the apprehension, according to Novaya Gazeta.

As previously reported, armed Islamic militants, mostly from the neighboring Chechnya and Ingushetia regions, stormed into a Beslan school on Sept. 1, 2004, the first day of classes, taking about 1,200 children, parents and teachers as hostages. The attack and the following Russian special forces' storm of the building claimed lives of 334 people, including 186 children, while more than 800 received injuries.

One of the leaders of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Shamil Basayev claimed responsibility for the attack.
