Law enforcers apprehend illegal gambling industry owners offering $30,000 in bribe, - National Police. PHOTOS

Police officers and members of the prosecutor's office detained organizers of gambling industry in the Mykolaiv region who attempted bribing the law enforcers.

As reported by Censor.NET citing local police authorities, the law enforcers closed down an illegal network of gambling venues operating in the region. The criminal proceedings were initiated under article 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (running gambling business).

The organizers of the illegal activities offered supervisor of pre-trial proceedings $30,000 in bribe for termination of the criminal case against them. In addition, they offered the law enforcers a monthly fee for further unhindered operation of gambling venues.

The Mykolaiv region Prosecutors Office opened another criminal case under part 3 of article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery).

The perpetrators were nabbed inside the Prosecutor's Office while trying to bribe its member to make him sweep the case under the carpet. They brought the first part of a bribe in the amount of $10,000 with them.
