A group of people including anti-terrorist operation (ATO) veterans and volunteers blocked freight trains delivering commodities by the railroad track connecting the occupied territory of the Luhansk region and the town of Shchastia.

Independent MP Volodymyr Parasiuk wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The situation is as follows: the country is at war but that has not stopped the trade with the people who started this war. SBU sanctions and covers for it. Therefore the ATO veterans, volunteers and patriots decided to stop this. Hence, a railroad track (in the vicinity of Shchastia, the Luhansk region - Ed.) was blocked. All the announcements and warnings about forthcoming blockade were ignored and the trains were sent to the occupied territories to get loaded. But these plans were foiled. The trains have been stopped.

"Everyone is tired of the war, but it will last as long as there is such a mess and profit is made of this war. The footage showing us stopping the train heading for the occupied territory was somehow deleted from Facebook. Take my word, I will try [to post it] again tomorrow," the lawmaker wrote and attached image of the blocked train.

Earlier, Samopomich MP Semen Semenchenko said that the railroad track connecting Luhansk, Lysychansk, and Popasna was blocked at the section between Hirske and Zolote villages.

"The veterans kick off trade blockade of the occupied territories," he said Jan. 26.

In turn, Deputy Minister for the occupied territories and IDPs Heorhii Tuka called extra-legal the decision to launch trade blockade. Minister for the temporarily occupied territories and IDPs Vadym Chernysh spoke against possible ban on commodities delivery across the contact line in the Donbas: "We need to be able to deliver coal otherwise we will face problems throughout the country."
