SBU Counterintelligence identified Russian mercenaries and soldiers killed and captured at Zholobok. PHOTOS+VIDEO
Censor.NET reports citing sources in SBU counterintelligence.
At around 11:30 a.m. June 24, 2017, while conducting additional reconnaissance of the area, scout platoon of the 20th Separate Mechanized Infantry Brigade and a group of the 8th Special Purpose Regiment found six men strong illegal armed gang.
Four military have been taken prisoners:
- Soldier Viktor Ageev, born in 1995, Russian citizen, resident of Altay Kray.
- Soldier Danylo Hladkov, born in 1988, citizen of Ukraine, resident of the Luhansk region.
- Sergeant Andrey Stoyanov, born in 1984, resident of the Luhansk region.
- Soldier Bohdan Venher, born in 1996, resident of the Luhansk region.
Two militants refused to surrender and have been killed on spot. They were:
- Captain Alexandr Shcherba, born in 1978, Russian citizen, resident of Kirov.
- Oleksandr Sukonin, 18 years old, resident of the Luhansk region.
Ukrainian scouts also seized some weapons (on photo below):
As reported, Russian scout Ageev, born in 1995, was captured by fighters of the Ukrainian Army in a skirmish between the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade and a scout group of the 4th mechanized brigade of the 2nd army corps of the so-called "Luhansk People's Republic" at Zholobok, the Luhansk region, on June 24.
During the skirmish, the commander of the group, Russian regular army officer Alexander Shcherba was killed. Four mercenaries have been taken prisoners, including Russian citizen Ageev.
