Russian secret services agent detained while receiving secret information from Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff, - SBU Counterintelligence. PHOTOS

These intelligence activities were conducted by a Ukrainian citizen, resident and native of Donetsk, who was trying to get intelligence information about Ukrainian military units, as tasked by Russian secret services. He was interested in learning about Ukraine's units personnel, equipment, location, weapons and relocation along the demarcation line, NATO supplies of military equipment to Ukraine, Sea Breeze drills in 2017, and data about officers of U.S. Army who train Ukrainian military. Most of these data is classified, experts say.
To obtain this information, the agent made contact with a former Ukrainian Army officer and was trying to receive classified materials from him.
The Ukrainian citizen was promised financial remuneration for completion of this intelligence activities.






Investigation has found evidence that the Ukrainian citizen was guilty of the said crimes. He was indicted of high treason, and documents were sent to court with a request to arrest the man.
