Rescuers say locals may return to their homes despite single cases of shell detonations at the Kalynivka ammo depot.

"As of 7 a.m. Sept. 29, single cases of shell detonation are recorded at the ammunition depot. All villages have been connected to the electric power circuit. Gas supply is being restored. Citizens who were evacuated are returning to their homes.... The situation is getting back to normal. Local population may return to their homes," the report reads.

The State Emergency Service also said their psychologists have been organized to work with locals who suffered from the emergency. No death casualties were reported, two persons were traumatized and hospitalized. Motorways for cars were reopened for public, as well as railway movement restored. Flights remain banned in 40-km circle around Kalynivka. A total of 2,110 persons and 358 units of equipment were involved in the rescue operation.

As reported, on Sept. 26 at around 10 p.m., State Emergency Service was reported of ammunition explosions in the military depot of the Defense Ministry in Kalynivka village. A Censor.NET source said that the explosions were heard in the village, and ammo was seen flying over the depot. The Kalynivka depot is more than 1,000 ha and packed with ammunition of various types.

As of 10 a.m. Sept. 27, more than 30,000 people have been evacuated. For that purpose, 50 buses, 10 ambulances, and Emergency Service psychologists were involved. Two people were traumatized and taken to hospitals.
