The ceremony took place in Sytnyk's home village. The rescuer went missing on Aug. 12, 2014. On that day he was taken away by unknown people in unknown direction from the 4th State fire rescue unit in Donetsk.
The man was identified on July 5, 2017, after results of forensic molecular DNA testing of a body found in Pisky village, the Donetsk region, were published.
The State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region says a total of 14 rescuers were killed by Russian occupants there.
