At Podol in Kyiv on the spot of conflict construction the Bazaar's roof was afire.

Civic activist and journalist Ihor Lutsenko reports on his Facebook page.

"Most of the roof on the Bazaar burned down last night. Firefighters were called right away, but they were unable to prevent extensive damage to the building. All Podol is covered with smoke now. Since the roof was burned, the Library and Institute for Restoration have to be relocated immediately. Actually, this is what the developer badly needed ..." wrote Lutsenko.

The press service of the State Service for Emergency Situations reported that on February 9, at 2:14 am in the Podol district, the building of the Bazaar had a fire in the attic covering the area of ​​200 sq.m. The fire has damaged structural elements of the roof. There are no victims. It is noted that the fire was extinguished at 07:30 a.m.. Cause of the fire and the damage are being investigated.

The construction in the Bazaar is being conducted despite the court ban. Since mid-January a drilling machine resumed its work.

Defenders of the Bazaar spend days and nights there but cannot stop the workers.
