Year ago, myth of invulnerability of Russian fleet was destroyed: Zaluzhny showed destruction of Saratov ship. VIDEO
A year ago, on March 24, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile attack on the enemy’s base in the seaport of temporarily occupied Berdiansk.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Telegram channel of Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny.
"The large landing ships "Orsk", "Cesar Kunnikov", "Novocherkask" were damaged, "Saratov" was destroyed.
The myth of the invulnerability of the Russian fleet was destroyed by the well-aimed strikes of the Armed Forces. This once again proved an irrefutable fact: the enemy will not rest on Ukrainian land: neither on land nor on water," Zaluzhny wrote.
The Russian side recognized the loss of its amphibious ship only a year later. In Sevastopol, a commemorative plaque will be opened to the sailors of the amphibious assault brigade near the Mine Wall, who died during the full-scale war against Ukraine, Krym.Realii reports with reference to the ForPost publication.
"A year ago, during hostilities, we lost the ship of the amphibious assault unit, LSD "Saratov". We lost the personnel of the amphibious ship "Saratov", "Novocherkask", "Cesar Kunikov", - said the commander of the Crimean navy base of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation Felix Menkov.
Previously, the Russian military denied losses when Ukrainian missiles hit these LSDs.
