The American defense company Red Cat will supply 200 high-speed FPV drones to equip the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated by Kruk UAV Operator Training Center, reports Censor.NЕТ.
"The company has scheduled deliveries of FPV drones to Ukraine for June this year. The list includes its new "night" UAV Teal 2.
Teal 2 is a lightweight quadcopter weighing 1.25 kg. It can stay in the air for 30 minutes and perform tasks within a radius of 5 km at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters.
The developer calls the drone a military system that is adapted to work in harsh combat conditions. One of the main advantages of Teal 2 is its secure communication channel, autonomous inertial positioning system and protection against enemy electronic warfare systems.
The UAV is adapted to perform tasks in the dark and is equipped with a Hadron 640R thermal imaging camera manufactured by American Teledyne FLIR. This provides the operator with a high-resolution thermal image from the UAV.
Red Cat Holdings, in cooperation with Athena AI, is also actively working on the development and integration of neural network-based software into Teal 2 class UAVs.
The promising artificial intelligence technology will allow to automatically recognize targets and weapons during reconnaissance operations even in low image quality conditions. The system should also be able to detect friend-or-foe markers, such as infrared beacons and Cyalume reflectors," the statement said.
