This was reported by the police of Chernihiv region, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, at around 1 p.m., the police received a report that an explosion had occurred in the basement of a multi-storey building in Chernihiv. A man was killed as a result of an explosion of an unknown object. The police identified the deceased as a local resident born in 1963," the statement said.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the explosion.

Crime scene investigation team, explosive experts, dog handlers and a forensic laboratory are working at the scene.
