Our partners provided Ukraine with long-range weapons that allowed us to destroy 26 Russian helicopters per day and 12 Russian aircraft at a time.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists of the Baltic media, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"Our partners know that 'some long-range weapons' they gave us, 'some' - I won't say what they are now, but they understand now, listening to me, that we destroyed 26 helicopters in a day, 12 aircraft that were taking off and launching missiles against which these systems were working, shooting them down. We destroyed 12 at a time. We just had the means," the president said.
At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that "this long-range weapon, which was transferred by our partners, which destroyed Russian aircraft that were rising to bomb us, is our defence".
"And we did not attack with these long-range weapons, it was part of our defence, our air defence," he explained.
