Ukrainian Mriia An-225, largest world’s aircraft, landed in Australian Perth. VIDEO

The largest aircraft in the world Mriia An-225 has landed in the Australian city of Perth.

20 thousand people witnessed the landing. Many fans of aircraft arrived to Perth city especially on this occasion. Many of them have missed a rare spectacle because of the road traffic.

Mriia An-225 took off from Hostomel (Kyiv-Antonov airport) town to Prague on May 10. The plane arrived to Perth after several refueling stops en-route including Turkmenistan, India and Malaysia on Sunday morning.

The Antonov An-225 Mriia is a strategic airlift cargo aircraft that was designed by the Soviet Union's Antonov Design Bureau in Kyiv in the 1980s. It is powered by six turbofan engines and is the longest and heaviest airplane ever built, with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tones. It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service. The single example built has the Ukrainian civil registration UR-8206 and belongs to Antonov Airlines.
