The Pecherskyi district court arrested Petro Oliinyk for 60 days without the right to bail. Oliinyk was involved in beating of a police officer in a skirmish near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Oct. 17.

This was announced by MP Anton Herashchenko on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"On Oct. 17, during a skirmish near the Verkhovna Rada, a Spetsnaz fighter from Kropyvnytskyi got hurt: a group of brutal people ripped off the protection ammunition of the police officer, and when he fell down, started beating him with their legs. This video, showing human brutality against an ATO participant [anti-terrorist operation in the Donbas - ed.], has been watched by the entire country," Herashchenko reminded.

He said Oliinyk's involvement in the beating has been established by investigators. Oliinyk, born in 1980, has been living in fugitive president Yanukovych's state residence in Mezhyhiria since 2014. He has been charged with a crime under article 354 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - threats or beating of a law enforcer.
Oliinyk is the one who is seen on this video as beating the defenseless police officer on his back of the head. On Oct. 25, the Pechersk district court arrested Oliinyk for 60 days without the right to bail, Herashchenko wrote.

He added investigators were working on identifying persons who beat and humiliated a 21-year-old woman, a Verkhovna Rada employee, who refused to go through the "arc of shame" set by protesters.

On Oct. 17, three people were hurt in skirmishes near the Verkhovna Rada, including two civilians and one police officer, who was hospitalized unconscious.
