The most important step of Ukraine in its fight against corruption is creation and implementation of the anti-corruption court.

This was stated by Paul Massaro, policy advisor of the U.S. Helsinki Commission and main rapporteur on corruption in Ukraine in an interview with Voice of America, Censor.NET reports.

"We want to see the corruption court; we want to see the selection of judges to involve the international community, we want to see eliminating of parliamentary immunity - these are all good short-term goals. ... The IMF has tied them to additional assistance that the United States, and the European Union and everybody else will certainly be looking forward to," the advisor said.

"I think we need to see the final piece of the anti-corruption architecture. We've got the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) that's able to investigate these people; the SAP - the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office that's able to prosecute; but then we don't have the final piece that's able to rule because the court is so deeply corrupt," Massaro said.
