"No more occupation! Russia wrestles away what we earned in Ukraine!" - Sevastopol entrepreneurs complain about pressure on business in Crimea. PHOTOS
The businessmen said at a rally dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution held by the Crimean communists on Nov. 7, Censor.NET reports referring to Krym.Realii.
The protesters held posters with slogans: "Russia wrestles away what we earned in Ukraine," "Judges and officials from the mainland (Russia - Ed.), go back where you came from! Enough mistreating the people of Sevastopol! We have never called you here! No more occupation!"
The entrepreneurs complain that the pressure exerted on business by the Russian authorities on the peninsula has reached disastrous proportions while the Kremlin-controlled Sevastopol authorities are engaged in corrupt practices and protection racketeering.
"The only thing the authorities seek is to wrestle away sales points and make money on auctioning them off. We certainly stand for bringing order to the city. But order must be imposed in a civilized way. You must create something first before ordering crackdowns against someone and cause ruin," said Marat Tyunin, the chairman of the Sevastopol Union of Entrepreneurs.
He says that only those close to the authorities and officials who came from neighboring Russia obtain land plots for construction of shopping centers.
