AFU continue to defend in east and south of Ukraine, advance in Melitopol and Bakhmut areas, - General Staff
During the past 24 hours, more than 35 combat clashes took place. The enemy launched 15 rockets and more than 70 air strikes, launched 47 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
This is stated in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.
Air strikes were carried out in Hirky, Pavlivka, and Popivka of the Sumy region; Nadia of the Luhansk region; Terny, Torske, Siversk, Vesele, Andriivka, New York, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Staromayorske of the Donetsk region; Verbove, Robotyne, Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region; Odradokamianka and Mykolaivka, Kherson region.
About 80 settlements in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops "North" in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.
In the Siverske and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy continues to hold groups of troops covering the state border. Conducts active diversionary activities in the border areas with the aim of preventing the transfer of our troops to dangerous directions, increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" in the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the Bila Hora area of the Donetsk region. The enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops in the Andriivka area of the Donetsk region. The defense forces continued their assault in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, and entrenching themselves at the achieved boundaries.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops "Tavria" in the Mariinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Mariinka area of the Donetsk region. Here, during the past day, the enemy made 10 unsuccessful attempts to dislodge our units from their occupied positions. At the same time, in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Defense Forces are holding the initiative, putting pressure on the enemy, carrying out assaults, and recapturing our land.
In the Melitopol direction, the Defense Forces continued the offensive operation, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, and force the enemy to withdraw from the occupied positions.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops "Odesa" in the Kherson direction, our soldiers are conducting a counter-battery fight, destroying supply depots and inflicting successful damage on the enemy's rear.
