Enemy is trying to block Avdiivka and capture Mariinka in order to move towards Kurakhove, - Defense Forces
The Russian army is trying to block Avdiivka and advance in the Donetsk direction. If successful, the next target of the occupiers may be Kurakhove.
This was stated by the head of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria region, Oleksii Dmytrashkivsky, on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
"The most dangerous direction remains Avdiivka and Mariinka. The enemy is actively storming the positions of the Ukrainian military there, also inflicting fire damage, using barrel artillery and rocket artillery, very actively began to use aviation," the spokesman said.
He noted that positional battles continue in the Avdiivka direction. According to him, the occupiers are trying to block Avdiivka and capture Maryinka in order to move in the direction of Kurakhove.
"But to date, the enemy has not succeeded in any of the directions. Instead, having no success on the battlefield, the enemy is shelling the civilian population," Dmytrashkivsky added.
