Now is not time for negotiations: weather is still military, - Macron on war in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron admitted that in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, "the weather is now military" and the time for negotiations has not come.

As Censor.NET informs with reference to "European Pravda", he said this in an interview with the Les Échos newspaper during his visit to China.

"I think China is making the same observation that we are, namely that the weather is military today. Ukrainians resist, and we help them. Now is not the time for negotiations, even if we are preparing them and if we have to set milestones," Macron said.

According to him, the purpose of his dialogue with China is to consolidate approaches to war.

"First: upholding the principles of the UN Charter. Second: a clear reminder about nuclear energy, and it is China that must draw conclusions about the consequences of President Putin deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus days after he pledged not to do this
Third: a very clear reminder of humanitarian law and the protection of children. And the fourth: the desire for negotiated and lasting peace," the French president explained.

He noted that Chinese leader Xi Jinping spoke about the European security architecture.

"But there can be no European security architecture as long as there are invaded countries or frozen conflicts in Europe. So you see a common matrix emerging from all of this. Is Ukraine a priority for Chinese diplomacy? Maybe not. But this dialogue provides an opportunity to soften the comments we have heard about a certain complacency on the part of China with regard to Russia," Macron said.
