The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 06:00 p.m. on April 9, 2023.
As Censor.NET informs, this was reported on the official Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The message states: "During the current day, the enemy launched more than 10 attacks from rocket salvo systems, carried out 23 air strikes and 4 missile strikes. 2 Russian missiles fired from the S-300 air defense system hit civilian infrastructure objects in Zaporizhzhia, causing casualties and civilians were injured, residential buildings were destroyed and damaged. Also, the Russian occupiers fired 2 missiles from the S-300 air defense system at the Kostiantynivka civilian infrastructure facility in the Donetsk region.
The probability of launching missile and air strikes remains high throughout the territory of Ukraine.
The enemy continues focusing main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka directions. During the day, thanks to the courage of each soldier, more than 40 enemy attacks were repelled.
In the Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Slobozhansk directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of offensive groups of the enemy have been detected.
During the day, the occupiers shelled the settlements of Yasna Poliana, Chernihiv region; Volfyne, Zapsillia, and Popivka of the Sumy region, as well as Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Mala Danylivka, Hatyshche, Ustinivka, Milove, Velyky Burluk, and Topoli in the Kharkiv region.
Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, and Zapadne of the Kharkiv region were hit by enemy fire in the Kupiansk direction.
In the Lyman direction, during the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area south of Dibrova. Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka of the Luhansk region and Kolodyazi, Torske, Siversk, Spirne, and Berestove of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy continues to conduct offensive actions, tries to take full control of the city of Bakhmut, fierce battles continue. During the day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area east of the settlement Bohdanivka and near Khromove. The units of the defense forces repelled about 20 enemy attacks on the indicated section of the front. Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Zaliznianske, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Bakhmut, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, and Druzhba of the Donetsk region were affected by enemy shelling.
In the Avdiivka and Mariinka directions, the enemy carried out offensive actions in the districts of Novokalynove, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Severne, and Mariinka of the Donetsk region, without success. The fiercest battles on the indicated section of the front continue for Avdiivka and Mariinka, where more than 10 enemy attacks were repulsed. At the same time, the settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka, and Mariinka of the Donetsk region were subjected to enemy shelling.
During the day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Shakhtarsk direction. He shelled the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Bohoiavlenka, Shakhtarske, Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to build up defensive lines and positions in terms of fortification. Shelled, in particular, Vremivka, Novopil, Donetsk region; Zatyshshia, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Huliaypilske, Bilohiria of the Zaporizhzhia region; Vesele, Burhunka, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Dniprovske of the Kherson region, as well as Kherson.
The cases of violent abduction of the civilian population by the Russian invaders in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine do not stop. In particular, in Starobilsk of the Luhansk region, the Russian occupying forces organize searches of the residences of citizens who are suspected of supporting Ukraine and take people away in an unknown direction without return.
During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 6 strikes on the concentration areas of the occupiers, and units of missile forces and artillery hit 4 anti-aircraft missile complexes, 11 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons, and military equipment, an ammunition depot and 5 stations of the enemy's electronic warfare.
