Ukraine needs 30 years to fully demine - Reznikov
It may take more than 30 years and 5,000 specialists to completely clear the territory of Ukraine of Russian mines.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukraine media center.
According to him, Ukraine needs at least 5,000 specialists to clear the territory of mines. As an example, he cited Croatia, where the war ended 28 years ago, but even now part of the country's territory is mined.
"On average, they can clear 50 square kilometers per year. And our war is still going on. If we move at the pace of Croatia, it will take 30 years to completely clear the area of mines," Reznikov said.
The Defense Minister noted that this process can be accelerated with the help of modern technologies.
To remind, the government is working to launch a large-scale demining program as soon as possible.
