Ukraine held the big Easter exchange of prisoners.
The head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, announced this on Telegram, Censor.NET informs.
"The great Easter exchange of prisoners. We are returning 130 of our people. It took place over the past few days in several stages. Military, border guards, national guardsmen, sailors, employees of the State Special Transport Service...Privates and sergeants who were captured in the Bakhmut, Soledar, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson directions. Our people are returning home," Yermak noted.
"The lives of our people are the highest value for us. "Heroes must be alive," this is what President Volodymyr Zelensky always says, whose task is performed by our team, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. This task sounds short: bring everyone back. And we will return," Yermak summarizes.
As reported in the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, this time thanks to the efforts of the Coordination Headquarters, 92 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 20 National Guardsmen, 11 National Guardsmen, three border guards, two representatives of the Naval Forces and the State Special Transport Service are returning home.
"All the rescued defenders are privates and sergeants. Most of the freed soldiers defended Ukraine in the Bakhmut and Soledar directions, as well as in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson region, and Luhansk region," the message says.
According to the coordination headquarters, 48 of the 130 Defensemen released today were considered missing. Some of the rescued have injuries, numerous contusions, and lost limbs. Also, two brothers who fought in the area of Bakhmut were released from captivity. The oldest of the released Defenders is already 58 years old, the youngest is 21 years old.
"Over the past week, the team of the Coordination Headquarters managed to free 230 of our soldiers from the captivity of the enemy. All of them will be able to celebrate Easter. Together with the whole country, we welcome the rescued defenders to their native land and do not stop our efforts to free all captured Ukrainians," the message reads.
