Despite the high activity of the enemy in several directions at the same time, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine manage to restrain his advance and inflict significant losses.
This was announced by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Censor.NET informs with reference to the Military Media Center.
"On the Kupyansk direction, there were attempts by the enemy to conduct offensive actions, but thanks to the effective fire of our artillery, the enemy units managed to escape, without even reaching the border of the transition to the attack.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy's actions were also unsuccessful. All his attempts to carry out offensive actions were defeated due to the stability of our positions and the courage of the soldiers," the message reads.
Sirsky noted that the epicenter of hostilities remains the Bakhmut area. There, the enemy concentrates its greatest efforts and does not abandon the goal of taking the city under control at any cost. Currently, the enemy is increasing the activity of heavy artillery and the number of air strikes, turning the city into ruins.
"At the same time, our fighters inflict significant losses on the enemy and significantly slow down his offensive actions. The fighting for Bakhmut continues. The situation is currently under control," added the commander of the Ground Forces
