One division of "Patriot" systems has already been deployed in Ukraine, - Ihnat
A division of American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems is already on combat duty. Other systems are still on their way to Ukraine.
Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Air Force Command, said this during the telethon, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Facts.
Asked by journalists whether Patriot is already protecting the Ukrainian sky, Ihnat showed a photo of himself next to the system and said that the air defense system is already on combat duty.
"The commander has already announced this. He has already visited one of the divisions... he saw how this division has already taken up combat duty. He talked to the people and thanked them for completing their training (on the Patriot SAM - Ed.) earlier. Because the deadlines were longer... But the guys returned faster, realizing how much they are needed here now," Ihnat said.
Ihnat added that the Patriot system will help Ukraine defend itself against enemy ballistic and aerodynamic targets.
