"Wagnerian", who stormed Ukrainian positions near Bakhmut, will appear before court. He faces up to 10 years in prison, - SSU
A mercenary of the Russian private company "Wagner" took part in hostilities against the Defense Forces on the Eastern Front.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.
Ukrainian defenders captured the occupier at the end of December last year during a skirmish in the Bakhmut direction.
"According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a 23-year-old citizen of one of the Central Asian countries, who was serving a sentence in the Tyumen penal colony of the Russian Federation for rape.
Last October, representatives of "Wagner" offered him to join a Russian private company to participate in the war against Ukraine. Under the terms of the "contract", he was promised 200,000 rubles and the "cancellation" of his criminal record. A month later, together with other convicts who joined the "Wagner" group, he arrived in Rostov, where he received a military uniform, weapons and ammunition," the report says.
It is noted that the mercenaries were then sent to a "training ground" located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region. However, due to the lack of combat training instructors, the "training course" never took place.
At the beginning of December last year, the figure was transferred to the eastern front as part of the occupation group. But he did not stay there for long.
So far, the investigators of the Security Service have informed the suspect of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 447 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hiring). The perpetrator is in custody. Now he faces up to 10 years in prison.
