Fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Mariinka - General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine

"The large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine continues for 425 days. The main efforts of the enemy are focused on conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariinka directions - more than 30 enemy attacks have been repulsed. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Mariinka.
During the day, the enemy launched 6 rocket and 47 air strikes, carried out 25 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and critical infrastructure of populated areas. The probability of further missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine. During the day, he shelled the settlements of Gremyach, Chernihiv region; Kucherivka, Shalyhine, Iskryskivshchyna, and Popivka in the Sumy region, as well as Okip, Mali Prohody, Strelecha, Neskuchne, Hatyshche, Budarky, and Chuhunivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy continues measures to fortify positions in separate areas. Topoli, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kislivka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region were hit by artillery and mortar attacks. The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Lymansky direction. Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhiyokamianske, Spirne and Pereizne in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to conduct offensive actions. Heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. In addition, during the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the settlements of Novomarkove and Khromove. Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Hryhorivka, Khromove, Bakhmut, Ivanovske, Chasiv Yar, Severne and New York of the Donetsk region were affected by enemy shelling.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out offensive actions near the settlements of Novokalynove, Stepove and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, without success. Shelled, in particular, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Severea, Tonenka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. In the Mariinka direction, during the day, our defenders repelled enemy attacks in the area of the Mariinka settlement, as well as near Novomykhailivka. Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Mariinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka of the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
During the current day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Shakhtarsk direction. He shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka and Komar in the Donetsk region. The enemy continues to conduct defensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. At the same time, during the day, he shelled the settlements near the battle line. Among them are Novosilka, Novopil of the Donetsk region; Olhivske, Malynyvka, Chervone, Charivne, Orihiv of the Zaporizhzhia region and the city of Kherson.
The enemy continues to use the civil infrastructure of temporarily captured settlements for its own purposes. In particular, in Holubivka, in the Luhansk region, the Russian occupiers use one of the schools as a medical center to provide medical assistance to their servicemen.
During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers. Also, 2 enemy reconnaissance UAVs of different types were shot down. Units of missile troops and artillery hit the enemy's anti-aircraft missile complex and 2 electronic warfare stations during the day," the information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine states.
