More than 8,500 civilians have died in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, - UN

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 8,574 civilians have died in Ukraine. Another 14,441 were injured.
This is stated in the summary of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Censor.NET informs.
It is noted that since February 24, 2022, 23,015 victims among the civilian population have been recorded.
"From April 1 to April 23, 2023, 405 victims among the civilian population were confirmed: 104 people were killed and 301 people were injured - mainly due to the use of explosive weapons with a wide impact zone, mines, etc.," the message says.
The UN stressed that the actual number of casualties is much higher, as information from some places where intense fighting is taking place is delayed and many reports are still unconfirmed. This applies, in particular, to Mariupol, Lysychansk, Popasna, and Severodonetsk, where numerous victims among the civilian population are reported.
