Ukraine has clear plan of action in case of threat of Starlink shutdown, - Fedorov

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Mykhailo Fedorov said that in the event of a threat to cut off Starlink, Ukraine would be able to "effectively adapt".
According to Censor.NET, he said this during an interview on the YouTube channel "Direct Red".
"The situation is currently under control. We are in close dialogue with the company itself, and it has been publicly stated that the information about a possible Starlink shutdown is not true. Therefore, there is no need to worry yet," said Mr. Fedorov.
He noted that the satellite communications system is used not only in the military but also in the civilian sector, including educational institutions, medical facilities, energy facilities and logistics.
"It is important to understand that Ukraine does not receive Starlink as free aid. We work with international partners such as Poland and Germany, which finance the purchase of thousands of terminals for us. We also pay for their support," explained Fedorov.
The Vice Prime Minister also said that Ukraine has created an electronic Starlink monitoring system that allows it to quickly disconnect damaged terminals to optimize partners' costs.
Commenting on the potential threat of Starlink shutdown, the minister assured that Ukraine has a clear plan of action in case of such a development.
"President Zelenskyy immediately initiated the search for alternative solutions, and the relevant steps have already been taken. Therefore, even in the event of a threat of disconnection, we will be able to adapt effectively," Fedorov said.
The minister added that a complete abandonment of Starlink would significantly complicate the situation, but Ukraine would find a way out.
At the same time, he does not rule out the possibility of Starlink being used by the Russian side.
"Theoretically, it is possible, and we must be prepared for such a scenario. However, our response will be even more technological. We are considering other communication options to compensate for any risks. And if Starlink falls into the hands of the enemy, we will destroy its infrastructure," summarized Fedorov.
What preceded it?
As a reminder, the American billionaire and head of the U.S. Government's Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), Elon Musk, is convinced that Starlink is key for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, because without it, the front line would collapse.
Afterward , Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski reacted to billionaire Elon Musk's statement: "If SpaceX turns out to be an unreliable supplier, we will have to look for others."
Later, Rubio responded to a post by his Polish colleague Radoslaw Sikorski, in which he reacted to billionaire Elon Musk's threats to cut off Starlink systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Later, Musk assured that he would never stop Starlink's work in Ukraine.
