NABU and Naftogaz have found joint solution to return assets worth UAH 1.6 billion to Ukraine

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and Naftogaz, in cooperation with the government and the Ministry of Justice, have found a way to fulfill the conditions required to initiate the procedure for returning UAH 1.6 billion to Ukraine.
This was reported by the NABU press service.
"The coordinated position of all branches of state power, ministries, and agencies enables Ukraine to effectively defend its interests and recover assets that were illegally transferred abroad," the statement said.
The NABU thanked the management of Naftogaz for its open dialogue, constructive position and support of efforts to return the funds to Ukraine.
Earlier, the NABU and the SAPO issued a joint statement in which they stressed that the inaction of the management of Naftogaz of Ukraine could lead to the disruption of the operation to return UAH 1.6 billion to Ukraine.
At the same time, Naftogaz assured that it is cooperating with the authorised ministries, agencies and anti-corruption bodies to return the assets to Ukraine.
