Body found of fourth US soldier who disappeared during exercises in Lithuania

The bodies of all the American soldiers who disappeared during the exercises in Lithuania have been found.

It is noted that the body of the fourth American soldier was found in the afternoon on Tuesday. His identity is not being disclosed until his family is informed of his death.

He was found after a search by hundreds of rescuers from the US Army, US Navy, Lithuanian Armed Forces, Poland, Estonia and "many other representatives of the Lithuanian government and civilian agencies," the US command said.

The disappearance of US soldiers in Lithuania

As a reminder, four U.S. soldiers went missing in Lithuania during a training exercise. Search and rescue operations are currently underway.

Earlier, the media reported that the soldiers were most likely killed.

Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Dovile Šakalienė went to the training ground near Pabrade, where four American soldiers went missing.

Later it became known that an armored vehicle in which the missing soldiers might have been was recovered from the swamp. Later, the U.S. European and African Command said that three U.S. servicemen who went missing during the exercises in Lithuania had died and that the fourth was being searched for.
