Basivka in Sumy region under full control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces – SBGS

The Ukrainian Defense Forces maintain full control over the village of Basivka in the Sumy region.
This was reported by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, according to Censor.NET citing RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the enemy continues attempts to cross into Ukrainian territory. The tactics remain unchanged – small assault groups trying to breach the border.
"We often detect such groups attempting to break through, including on quad bikes and using other equipment. Their objective is to penetrate as deep as possible into Ukrainian territory — including in the direction of Basivka — to regroup, entrench themselves, wait for reinforcements, and then launch active combat operations. But Basivka remains under the full control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces," Demchenko stated.
He noted that Ukrainian defenders are holding firm in this direction, as well as in others where the enemy continues to attempt breakthroughs.
"Our units from the State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible to destroy the enemy — both the groups that manage to cross the border on quad bikes and those still approaching the border line," he added.
At the same time, Demchenko emphasized that further attempts by Russian forces to expand the zone of active combat along the border, including in Sumy region, cannot be ruled out.
"We’re talking about more than 530 kilometers. We must be prepared to counter enemy assault groups, sabotage and reconnaissance units, or larger forces if deployed. Each component of the Ukrainian Defense Forces is responsible for its own sector of defense and continues to fortify positions to help our troops repel the enemy along all axes," the spokesperson said.
