Two Chinese nationals fighting for Russia taken prisoner in Donetsk region – Zelenskyy. VIDEO

Ukrainian defenders captured two Chinese nationals in the Donetsk region. They fought as part of the Russian army.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Censor.NET reports.

"Our military captured two Chinese nationals who fought in the Russian army. It happened on the territory of Ukraine - in the Donetsk region. We have documents of these prisoners, bank cards, personal data.

We have information that there are many more such Chinese nationals in the occupier's units than just two. We are now finding out all the facts. Intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the relevant units of the Armed Forces are working," he said.

The President instructed Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to immediately contact Beijing and clarify how China intends to respond.

"Russia’s involvement of China in this war in Europe — whether directly or indirectly — is a clear signal that Putin intends to do anything but end the war. He is looking for ways to keep fighting. This undoubtedly requires a response. A response from the United States, from Europe, and from everyone in the world who wants peace."

The captured Chinese nationals are currently in the custody of the Security Service of Ukraine. Investigative and operational measures are ongoing, the President added.
