Ministry of Defense plans to increase purchase of fiber-optic drones this year

Purchase of fiber-optic drones will be increased

The Defense Procurement Agency plans to increase the supply of fiber-optic drones to the Armed Forces this year.

This was reported by the Defense Procurement Agency, Censor.NET reports.

"This year, the Agency plans to increase the supply of fiber-optic drones to the Armed Forces so that our defenders have the best technological solutions in their arsenal," the statement said.

It noted that representatives of the Defense Agency attended the first in Ukraine tests of FPV drones on fiber with a range of more than 20 km, organized by the Brave1 cluster.

"This type of drone is showing rapid development - manufacturers have presented and successfully tested solutions that allow them to hit targets at a distance of more than 20 km. Fiber-optic unmanned aerial vehicles have a number of advantages: invulnerability to enemy electronic warfare, no radio emissions, stable communication, and no radio range restrictions.

In addition, 7 manufacturers of fiber-optic ground robotic systems took part in the tests and also conducted test runs," the Agency added.
