The consul of Ukraine in Israel helped Oleksandr, who was denied boarding a Wizz Air plane at Tel Aviv airport a few days ago, to board a flight to Europe. From there he will go to his relatives in Ukraine.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko, Censor.NET informs.
"Important information: our citizen has never served in the ranks of the Armed Forces and is not a veteran. He became disabled as a result of a road accident many years ago. But he is a Ukrainian citizen, so it was our duty to help him," he wrote on Facebook.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the rights of Ukrainian citizens were violated.
"We expect the official investigation to be completed, the culprits to be brought to justice and the air carrier to fulfill its obligations to the passenger. We will keep this issue under control," Nikolenko promised.
He added that Ukrainians abroad can always count on the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the Ukrainian was not allowed on the Wizz Air flight from Tel Aviv. The company later apologized to the passenger.
