MiG-31 fighter jet crashed in the Primorsky Territory of the Russian Federation during a training flight.

This was reported in the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation, іnforms Censor.NET with reference to Russian "Interfax".

"On December 2, a MiG-31 aircraft crashed in the Primorsky region during a scheduled training flight. The crew ejected. The flight was performed without ammunition," the statement reads.

The agency reports that the plane crashed in a deserted place, there are no destructions on the ground.

"According to preliminary information, the cause of the accident could be a technical malfunction," - the Eastern Military District explained.

Mi-8 helicopters of the search and rescue service were sent to the scene.

MiG-31 is a Soviet two-seat supersonic high-altitude all-weather long-range fighter-interceptor.
