Antigay discrimination amendment to Labor Law passed by Parliament

The bill has been supported by 234 people's deputies out of 226 required, Censor.NET correspondent informs.

Before putting the document to the vote, Rada Speaker Volodymyr Hroisman stressed that the parliament supported traditional family values.

The bill No. 3442 suggests amendments to article 21 of the new Labor Code banning discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identification, and disablement when employing a person.

This amendment will harmonize the Law to the relevant EU legislation. As stipulated by the explanatory note, the listed amendments are a direct requirement under the Ukraine-EU visa liberalization plan.
