The Polish Air Force would have shot down a Russian missile that had violated the country’s airspace if it was certain that it was headed for a target on Polish territory.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said this during a media briefing on Sunday, Censor.NET informs with reference to Ukrinform.

"Each such situation is considered individually. But if there were any signs that this object was heading to some target located on the territory of Poland, it would obviously have been shot down," Kosiniak-Kamysz said.

He noted that in view of this kind of situation, Poland is strengthening its air defense/anti-missile defense system. Therefore, contracts were signed for the implementation of the second stage of the "Visula" air defense/air defense program.

The Minister of Defense of Poland thanked the American and British allies, in particular the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, who, after negotiations with the Polish side, decided to continue the deployment of air defense/anti-missile systems, in particular Sky Saber, in Poland until the end of this year.

Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Russia continues to violate international law by attacking the territory of Ukraine.

"We will continue to support Ukraine, this support is important in the international arena, as well as provide military and humanitarian support. This is a matter related to Polish and global security," the Polish Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

He added: it is clear that Russia cannot count on normal behavior and compliance with international law.

As reported, the country will demand an explanation from the Russian Federation due to the missile that flew into Poland's airspace in the morning. It was also reported that on the night of March 24, Poland activated its Armed Forces in connection with a massive Russian missile attack on the territory of Ukraine.
