680 Ukrainian Servicemen Held in Captivity - Ruban

680 Ukrainian soldiers were captured during recent battles in the Donbas, 80% of them were taken as a prisoners in Ilovaisk.

Head of the public organization "Officer Corps", head of the Center for the exchange of prisoners Colonel-General in reserve Volodymyr Ruban said this at a press conference, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

He noted that the information about the number of the Ukrainian military, captured near Ilovaisk, is classified.

"For this reason I cannot discuss it until we finish the operation and until we return our POWs," Ruban said.

"Concerning the prisoners - it is also a disaster. The way the operations are conducted makes the impression that the army is prepared for surrender," Ruban said.

He stressed that there is already the problem of food for prisoners. According to him, the Dnipropetrovsk region prepares humanitarian train with food to feed the Ukrainian prisoners in Donetsk.

According to Ruban, "the situation in Luhansk is almost the same."

In addition, he said that there is "no sufficient food supply, the infrastructure is not arranged for the winter" in the east of Ukraine

"The situation in Luhansk is very sad," Ruban said. According to him, "large humanitarian disaster will cover" the civilians living in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
