Kyiv Demands That the Russian Federation Release All Ukrainian Political Prisoners - Foreign Ministry
Ukraine insists that political prisoners detained in Russia be freed under the Minsk Protocol for the release of all the hostages.

"We insist that citizens of Ukraine - political prisoners, who were illegally detained in Russia, must be released under this article of the protocol. Nadiya Savchenko and Oleh Sentsov are meant in particular among others," speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebiynis said at a briefing on Tuesday.
According to him, the process of liberation of Ukrainian citizens who are being held hostage continues. Perebiynis mentioned the General Staff of Ukraine information, according to which they already released about 650 people. About the same number of Ukrainians should be also released by the opponents. "We look forward to effective support in this regard from our international partners, in particular the Council of Europe," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
