Ukraine Plans to Purchase Oil from Azerbaijan - Prodan

Ukraine and Azerbaijan are discussing possibility of oil supplies from the Republic to the Ukrainian refineries.
Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine head Yurii Prodan stated this at a briefing in Baku, Censor.NET reports citing the Ministerial press service. Prodan said that Ukraine intends to partner with Azerbaijan in the energy sector in the future. The Minister noted that there is a meeting with Azerbaijan Energy Ministry head Natig Aliyev planned.
The parties will discuss issues related to the transportation of oil from Azerbaijan Republic to Ukraine. They will also negotiate implementation of other joint projects.

According to Yurii Prodan, Azerbaijan considers an option of oil supply to the Ukrainian refineries. The Minister stressed that the supply of oil from Azerbaijan is possible within short terms. In addition, he noted that the maximum capacity of domestic refineries has not yet been reached, so technically speaking, the volume of processed oil may be raised quickly enough.
