Poroshenko Discussed Situation in Eastern Ukraine With Hollande
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with President of France François Hollande.
Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to François Hollande for his significant efforts aimed at supporting Ukraine. "Demonstration of unity and solidarity by the EU is extremely important for Ukraine today," he said, Censor.NET reports citing the President's press service.

President Hollande highly evaluated actions of President Poroshenko on the way to peaceful settlement.
In the context of new level of sanctions that will be imposed under the EU's decision tomorrow, François Hollande notes that such restrictive measures can be reconsidered by the end of month if there is a progress in de-escalation of the situation. The interlocutors agreed that indicators of such progress will be the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, the liberation of hostages and the establishment of control over the border with participation of the OSCE. For proper monitoring and verification, Petro Poroshenko urged to increase the size of Special monitoring mission of the OSCE and improve the level of its technical equipment.

François Hollande agreed to continue his active participation in negotiations in Normandy format. Earlier, Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel has done the same.
