Poland Resumed Reverse Gas Flow to Ukraine.
Poland resumed gas deliveries to Ukraine from the European Union this morning, which were suspended on Wednesday, September 10, due to limitations in the supply of Russian gas to the country.
Polish gas transmission system operator Gaz System press secretary Malgorzata Polkovska claimed this on Friday, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.
"Reverse gas flow was resumed today at 6:00 am," she said. According to Gaz System, the company now plans to pump about 3.8 million cubic meters of gas in Ukraine, which corresponds to the amounts which were delivered until the suspension of supplies in early September. This is almost the maximum amount that may be pumped through the Hermanovice station used for these supplies. It is impossible to pump more than 4 million cubic meters of gas per day through it.
The head of Gaz System said Yesterday, September 11 that the company awaits the increase of Russian gas deliveries volume by more than 30%, which, according to him, will allow to resume pumping gas to Ukraine. Ukrainian Naftohaz buys gas through Poland under a contract with the German RWE Supply & Trading and Gaz System only provides transportation services of that energy. The terms of the contract with the Polish company allow it to stop deliveries at any time when considered necessary.
