Nationalists block police raiding Kyiv-based ATEK plant. VIDEO&PHOTOS

The law enforcement officers who came to raid Kyiv-based ATEK plant early on Friday found themselves blocked by the members of the Ukrainian nationalist movements on the territory of the enterprise.

As reported by a correspondent for Censor.NET from the scene, the law enforcers conducted searches on the territory of ATEK plant located next to Kyiv’s Sviatoshyn subway station. One of the buildings of the plant is used by the National Corps political party as the headquarters and training facility.

The political forces assure that it was these premises that the law enforcement officers raided while furniture belonging to the organization was damaged during the search. The activists also say the police used excessive force to some members of the movement.

The law enforcers insist they had a search warrant according to which they seized documents in the office of the plant while the search had nothing to do with NGOs or political organizations located in the plant’s premises.

Meanwhile, MPs Andrii Ilienko, Oleh Petrenko and National Corps party leader Andrii Biletskyi along with activists of the nationalist movements arrived at the scene. They barricaded the entrance to the plant to prevent the law enforcers from leaving it.

Subsequently, the police managed to break through from the plant being booed by the crowd.

As the law enforcers left, the activists showed journalists the building they use on the territory of the plant. According to them, the police smashed down the doors, picked some locks, and broke furniture.

Moreover, Chief of Staff of the National Corps Rodion Kudriashov said his laptop disappeared along with a knife that was gifted to MP Biletskyi and medals of the National Corps.
