No fatalities in Ukrainian army on Easter, five soldiers injured in 35 attacks committed by Russian-backed militants, - ATO HQ

Combined Russian and terrorist forces continued violating Easter truce in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone over the past 24-hour period by committing 35 attacks on Ukrainian military personnel using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the ATO headquarters press center as of April 8, 2018.

"In Luhansk section of the frontline, the invaders fired upon the ATO forces’ defenses near Luhanske village with banned 120-mm mortars, 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns. Defenders of Svitlodarsk were attacked by the enemy snipers and came under grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns’ fire. The invaders also bombarded the Ukrainian troops on the outskirts of Krymske and Valuiske villages with grenade launchers.

"In Donetsk direction, the militants employed grenade launchers and small arms against the ATO forces’ defenses near Vodiane, Lebedynske, Bohdanivka, Kamianka, Pyshchevyk and Shyrokyne. Moreover, the enemy committed attacks near Bohdanivka using armament of the infantry fighting vehicles; fired upon the defenders of Vodiane, Hnutove and Pyshchevyk with large-caliber machine guns; employed small arms against defenders of Avdiivka, Pavlopil, Talakivka and Butivka mine. Attacks by the terrorists’ snipers were recorded near Shyrokyne.

"Five Ukrainian soldiers were injured in action over the past day. The injured servicemen were promptly taken to hospitals and provided with the necessary medical assistance," the situation report reads.

Earlier, Russian mercenaries opened fire on Ukrainian troops 42 times April 7.
