Tensions in Donbas escalate as five Ukrainian soldiers got injured, traumatized in 64 militants’ attacks over past day, - ATO HQ

Combined Russian-separatist forces continued breaching truce over the past day by committing 64 attacks on the Ukrainian military personnel in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone occasionally using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.

"The ATO forces deployed near Berdianske, Lebedynske, Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Pisky, Kamianka, Avdiivka, and Butivka mine in Donetsk section of the forefront came under strikes with banned 120-mm mortars. The militants also committed attacks using armament of tanks in the vicinity of Vodiane, Pisky and Kamianka. The outskirts of Pisky, Talakivka, Lebedynske, and Butivka mine were bombarded with 82-mm mortars.
"The invaders employed grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms against defenders of Lebedynske, Avdiivka, Starohnativka, Talakivka, Marinka, Kamianka, Hnutove, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane, Butivka mine, Opytne, Novotroitske and Pavlopil. Defenders of Pisky, Hnutove, and Krasnohorivka were fired upon with armament of the infantry fighting vehicles. Ukrainian troops deployed near Shyrokyne were shelled with anti-tank missiles.
"In Luhansk direction, the militants fired upon the ATO forces’ defenses in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka with 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns while armament of the infantry fighting vehicles was used in attacks near Luhanske village.
"Four Ukrainian soldiers were injured in action and another one received combat trauma over the past 24-hour period. They were promptly taken to hospitals and provided with the necessary medical assistance," the situation report reads.
Earlier, Russian terrorists committed 35 attacks on the Ukrainian troops in the Donbas on April 9.
