Tymoshenko nominated for presidency by party congress. PHOTOs
The Unity Forum, a festive Batkivshchyna congress, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Unity of Ukraine has nominated the party leader Yuliia Tymoshenko for presidency.

Ukraine former President Leonid Kravchuk, former head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchy Filaret, and singer Oleksandr Ponamariov arrived at Palats Sporta (Palace of Sports) where the event was taking place.
Meanwhile, several people with anti-Tymoshenko banners were protesting outside the palace.
In his speech Filaret said that the lack of unity is a key issue in today’s Ukraine.
Ivan Kyrylenko [deputy head of Batkivshchyna party] declared the Batkivshchyna congress open with 174 delegates having been registered.
The agenda was dedicated to the only issue - the nomination of a candidate for presidency.
Batkivshchyna political council recommended nominating Yuliia Tymoshenko.
In his speech former Ukraine President Leonid Kravchuk said Tymoshenko was a sincere and strong person and that the upcoming elections we will be about choosing not only the next president, but a new path towards a better life.
Former head of NATO Anders Fog Rasmussen and former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili expressed their support via video link.
In her speech, Yuliia Tymoshenko thanked her family, team and everyone who supported her during the arrest and detention.
She also introduced her military office, which is developing a Strategy for peace and security.
"I believe Ukraine will win the war, and Donbas will be Ukrainian again," said Tymoshenko.
The Congress supported the nomination of Yuliia Tymoshenko as a presidential candidate.
