Ukraine Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko sees the treason case of Ukraine ex-President Viktor Yanukovych as defining for the country’s future.
Censor.NET reports citing Lutsenko’s Facebook page.
"The case of Yanukovych, who fled the country and called for Russian troops to invade Ukraine territory, is one of the most important for the future of the state," – the message reads.
He also mentioned that 20 months of the trial are now behind: "89 hearings, where 19 volumes of evidence were examined by the prosecution side, 37 witnesses from prosecution and 15 from defense were heard."
The Obolonskyi District Court of Kyiv is to pass a verdict in Yanukovych treason case today.
